The Power Of A Woman

0

God has gifted every woman to play different roles throughout her life. From being a darling daughter to a doting mom, a responsible homemaker, a loving wife or an achiever at work, women perform every role with aplomb. Whether the men around agree or not but we are the undisputable monarchs of our kingdom, there are things in the world which only we could do. Carrying a baby in womb for nine months is a feat which only a woman can perform.

I believe each woman is an Alpha Woman in true sense of the word. Stay at home moms play a big responsibility in taking care of home and instilling right values in the children. Whereas working moms do a wonderful job of striking balance between personal and professional life. Every woman faces challenges throughout her life and fights back with courage and determination. Whether it is adjusting in a new family post marriage, recouping from post partum medical condition or sacrificing lucrative careers in order to raise children, moms do it all.

Why are the women at the receiving end in our society? On the one hand we worship them as Durga and Kali while on the other hand we treat them as a useless doormat. Respecting women is a mark of civilized society; Infact women of Vedic Era like- Gargi, Lopamudra and Maitreyi were the epitome of intellectual development. I have seen husbands ill treating their wives and not letting them take any decisions for themselves. Some women think it is their duty to give consent to every misgiving of their husbands. They become so submissive with time that they start finding illusionary happiness in their miserable life. Not only at home, in some areas of our country it is a challenge for a girl to step out of the house. Using a public transport and coming back safely to home is a daring task which some women do every day. That’s the irony of Indian scenario, we have powerful women like Indira Nooyi, Sonia Gandhi and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and a submissive distraught housewife like Naina Sahni, whose life ends being chopped into pieces and cooked in a tandoor, living simultaneously in the same society.

I urge all women not to underestimate themselves. The key to your happiness is in embracing yourself. Identify your latent potential, come forward and conquer the world. Each one of us has an Indira Nooyi in us, we just have to discover it.

Cheers to Womanhood!
